Of the proposals for Stoughton Land recently made public, the one from Weston Associates would seem to us to warrant serious consideration. At their last session the Stoughton Trustees stated that the candidates were down to two: Pulte and Copeland. Why no Weston?

The general manager of the MBTA said last week that the planned expansion of the Neponset Greenway will go through Mattapan, after officials from the mass transit agency, the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the State House met in an attempt to move ahead with the project. At last Thursday’s Selectmen’s meeting there was only one speaker for Citizens Speak, but the topic is one that is under discussion across the Commonwealth – reprecincting.
Kris Hodlin, a Town Meeting Member from Precinct 3 and member of the Board of Library Trustess, voiced her concerns about the reprecincinting plan recently presented by the Town Clerk James Mullen and approved by the Selectmen at their previous session.
For a Planning Board meeting last night was short and sweet.
Steven Connelly appeared before the board regarding the extension he has requested. Connelly had asked to postpone appearing before the board until he had an oppotunity to evaluate the zoning and address specific points that the board had flagged regarding the design. It appeared that there might be a difference of opinion on interpreting zoning as it applied to this development.
Apparently that has been resolved.

This past spring Milton High School had a crew team for the first time, following hard work by a handful of men committed to bringing rowing to Milton.
The team consisted of 16 students, most of whom were rowing for the first time. Head coach Tim Huth said only two people on the team had any experience. (Read the full story here.)

On June 12 at 12:08 p.m., a caller reported her vehicle on Eliot Street was broken into sometime overnight and a large amount of blood was left on the car. (Read the full story here.)
In 1701 there was a Milton, but there was no United States. There were no planes, trains, or automobiles, no internet, no stock market. Milton had no areas of commerce to speak of. All that would come with time. But Milton did have something then that is still with us today.
Beginning the first week of July, Fuller Village is offering a summer series of swim lessons for children. Lessons are held Monday through Thursday for a two week period from 2:00 – 2:30pm or from 3:00 – 3:30pm. Please click “Read more” for specific session information.
It’s quite a coincidence in light of the capture of Whitey Bulger but just the other day an article ran in the Taunton Daily Gazette regarding the Bulger’s Winter Hill Gang on the south shore. The Squantum area in Quincy and Milton were both featured.
