At Kelly Field July 4th got off to a running start as Milton continued its Independence Day tradition.
The event, which started in 1947 and is put on every year by the Kiwanis club, kicked off at 9:30 A.M. and featured foot races for 2 year olds all the way up to adults. (Read the full story here. Includes video.)

Approved precinct map now available

The Town Clerk’s office has made the recent updated precinct map that was appoved by the Election Commission available on the town web site. You can find it here.

The Church of Baseball comes to Milton

Poor farm to be housing

There is a good piece in today’s Globe on the Trustees decision to select Pulte as the developer of the Stoughton land. Two important points to add. Any proposal would need to be approved by the probate court and all the proposals with the possible exception of the Copeland bid would require approval of the Planning Board. The notion of delayed payment is inherent in the process. You can find the article here.

Milton resident and designer Nayak creates destination vacations

In the series (tomorrow at 8:30 p.m.), Nayak takes families on a tour of three absolutely decadent homes in lavish destinations. Then the family votes on which house to spend a week in. (Read the full story here.)

A “Tony” night in Milton

More than 70 people came to the Fontbonne Academy auditorium for “A Night at the Tony Awards” a Broadway style review show put on by the Rising Stars camp. (Read the full story here.)

Update from the MWRA re: Adams Street project

The focus of the MWRA’s project on Adams Street has been in the Milton Village area for the past couple of months. The pipe has just about been completely installed in Milton and the pressure testing is just about completed. Next week, or the week just after the 4th of July will see the paving program begin.
