My name is Sheryl Fleitman and I am running for Library Trustee.
I reside at 75 Crown Street and I have been involved with the Town of Milton for my entire life and I have used the library since I was in elementary school.
Brief bits: Warrant Committee to recommend CPA & Re-districting articles
Selectman Tom Hurley, lead proponent for an article to requesting Milton adopt the Community Preservation Act, appeared before the Warrant Committee recently to advocate they recommend it to Town Meeting. He was joined by former Town Administrator John Cronin.

Cause of Milton house fire undetermined

The cause of Thursday’s three-alarm house fire near East Milton Square is still a mystery. Investigators from the state Fire Marshal’s office determined that the fire at 589 Adams St., which displaced an elderly couple and their daughter, started in the staircase connecting a second-floor bedroom with the attic. Here are some incidents reported to the Milton police this week. A full list is available at police headquarters, 60 Highland St.
On March 2 at 9:21 p.m., a Cunningham Park security guard reported a small fire in the nearby trees. Officers responding confirmed the fire and were able to put it out quickly without help from the Fire Department. (Read the full story here.)

At last night’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting Chief Wells commended the officers, fire fighters, and emergency personnel that responded to the devasting fire on Adams Street. It was a well coordinated effort in a challenging part of town. As the chief noted, closing off East Milton is not simple task.
