MPD urge vigilance in light of attempted house breaks

Good morning…yesterday morning, an attempted housebreak took place on Oak St., and a break-in did occur on the 150 block of Eliot St., entry made by a rear kitchen window. MPD has already brought charges on two Boston men from the break on Cliff Rd. Monday and have recovered the jewelry taken in that crime.

Recent MCAS scores place Milton in top 25% of schools in the state

The most recent MCAS scores have been tabulated and Milton Public Schools performance has been recognized by State. All six Milton Public Schools received a Level 1 designation  by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). This is the highest level attainable on the tests and places the entire district in the Level 1 category. Milton is among the top 25% of districts in the Commonwealth, including all public and charter school districts.

Magical Milton 350th Trolley Tour

The Milton 350th Anniversary Committee is sponsoring a trolley tour of historic and significant sites in Milton on Sunday, October 21st.

The route will include locations all over town including familiar places like the Blue Hills Reservation, the Suffolk Resolves House and the Forbes House Museum

Dot man infected with West Nile Virus

Be careful – mosquitoes are still out there and looking for you. Mosquitoes can carry dangerous germs and you should take precautions. You can find information here.

The Boston Public Health Commission said today that a Dorchester man had contracted West Nile Virus— the second confirmed human case in a Boston resident this year. The man in his 40s was hospitalized, but has been released. It is unclear at this time where he contracted the infection, which is carried by mosquitoes (Read the full story here.)
