MPD urge vigilance in light of attempted house breaks

Notice from the Milton Police Department

Good morning…yesterday morning, an attempted housebreak took place on Oak St., and a break-in did occur on the 150 block of Eliot St., entry made by a rear kitchen window. MPD has already brought charges on two Boston men from the break on Cliff Rd. Monday and have recovered the jewelry taken in that crime.

We now know that an Eliot St. resident did speak with these subjects yesterday morning when they came to his home. One was at his back door. When he encounted the man he told him he was “looking for the train station.” Unfortunately, we did not receive the information until today. The subjects involved may be part of a larger group doing residential breaks in the Metro Boston area. In almost all cases, entry will be made through a rear window. Residents of the Eliot -Columbine area need to be watchful as we believe they may return,. The suspects are two young black males. They may be coming into Milton via the trolley. The suspects carry backpacks and will take some time walking the neighborhood looking for an empty home. In Monday’s case, we we able to intervene because alert neighbors saw the suspects enter a back yard. This one element of these crimes is a constant. Please be vigilant. any activity as described here, please call 911. Thank you… Please share this information with your neighbors and FB friends in Milton.
