Police make narcotics arrest

On Saturday evening, Officer Joe Fahey on a routine patrol check of the BI Deaconess/Milton Hospital Lot, observed a black SUV parked in a remote section of the property. The rear window was smashed out. As Officer Fahey approached, the car tried to leave. During his intital encounter, he detected obvious evidence of Class A narcotics.

In short, the Selectmen’ meeting covered the following: a Citizens Speak in which neighbors of Governor’s Road lamented the decision by the Mayor of Quincy to terminate their hopes for a safe street, a discussion with Mary McNamara of the screening committee regarding the search for a new Town Administrator, and recommendations from Rick Neely, Chair of the Government Review Committee on steps that the Board may want to take sooner than later.

Wednesday October 24th, is OPERATION YELLOW BLITZ. The Milton Police Dept. in conjunction with the RMV wish to draw attention to the national problem of drivers illegally passing school buses, picking up and dropping off students. MPD encourages all residents, parents, teachers and bus drivers, to identify ANY VIOLATIONS of this statute and email us with the date, location, vehicle and description to crimetips@mpdmilton.org. MGL Ch.90-14 requires all drivers to stiop when buses have their “red flashing lights activated.” Thank you for helping to keep Milton’s streets safe.

The Boston Guitar Orchestra in concert at MPL
On Saturday, November 10th at 2 PM, The Boston Guitar Orchestra (BGO) will perform in the Keys Community Room of the Milton Public Library. The BGO is a community-based amateur ensemble that is committed to the promotion of the arts in the New England area through the performance and creation of works for guitar ensemble while building an inclusive community of participants and audiences.

The great equalizer in football is turnovers. It’s a numerical probability that any team — regardless of record — which wins the turnover battle enhances its chances of winning.
Such was the case on Friday evening when Framingham squared off against Milton in a Bay State Conference clash at Bowditch Field. The turnover battle — won decisively by Milton, 6-2 — figured greatly into the Wildcats’ 10-6 upset victory over the Flyers. (Read the full story here.)
