Forbes House Museum Offers New Local Family Membership & Summer Teas

The Forbes House Museum has upgraded its membership program, and will offer a special Local Family Membership for $40, a 20% discount off the regular price, for those residing within 10 miles of the Museum.

The special offer will run through 30 June 2011 as part of the Museum’s new Membership Month. New membership categories have also been added, including a new Senior and Student membership. The program also has a new name, The Friends of Forbes House Museum.

Memorial Day Milton, 05.30.11

Yesterday Milton observed its standard Memorial Day tradition: a gathering at Town Hall, a short parade down to the cemetery, some remarks including a reading of The Gettysburg Address, and the MHS band and chorus performing a few numbers. It is a community moment to remember the liberties we have and the people who “gave the last full measure of devotion” to ensure them.

Parkway Methodist to hold 3rd Annual Vendor Fair

The Parkway United Methodist Church will be holding its 3rd Annual Vendor Fair. Items will include jewelry, books, knit goods, and lost more! There will be something for eveyone!

There is plenty of parking! It is handicapped Accessible! And lunch will also be available!

Milton planning its 350th anniversary

Milton has begun preparing for its 350th anniversary next year.

The annual town meeting recently got things rolling with approval of $5,000 for the committee planning the event. (Read the full story here.)

Milton High competes in Mooses on the Malden Regatta

A small bit of MHS history was made on Sunday, May 22nd, when Milton High had two boats entered in the Mooses on the Malden Regatta. It was the first time Milton rowed in competition. Other schools included Somerville High, Cambridge Rindge and Latin, Malden High School (the host), Holyoke, and Westford.Yarmoughth and Waynflete trailored down from Maine for the event.

Prinos prevails over Launie in MIAA South Tennis Final

For the second time Alana Prinos of Foxboro took the win over Ariana Launie of Milton in the MIAA-South Sectional Tennis Final. It was a hard fought match but after three sets the win went to Alana Prinos. Congratulations to both.
