On Thursday, October 22, 2015, the 11th annual Literary Gala, “Where Stories Begin,” will be held at Lombardo’s, 6 Billings Road, Randolph, MA, benefiting the Milton Public Library. The gala is hosted by the Milton Library Foundation and chaired by President-Elect Stacey Cornforth. The keynote speaker will be noted author Alice Hoffman. Information on sponsorship and ticket sales will be announced soon.

Currently playing at Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park is a spectacular production of “Les Miserables” the sung-through musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel by the same name. The musical “Les Miserables” is one of the longest-running and most beloved theatrical events, and the current production upholds that popularity. Strong in all areas—acting, vocal performance, costumes, staging, and musicianship—a full house responded with much-deserved standing ovations on opening night, Friday, May 8th.

During the final night of Town Meeting there were several discussions of interest. As with previous nights, Town Meeting voted the recommendations of the Warrant Committee. Here is a summary of the articles and the votes taken.
Spring is here – and so are fun things for kids to do at the Milton Public Library! In addition to our regular storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday, we have these exciting programs for the young people in your life happening during the week of May 24 – 30:
update 05.13.15 @ 1:25pm – The Milton High School Rugby team is on a tear this season. They were sceduled to finish up their last regular season game tonight at Brooks Field against Scituate but that game has been postponed (see comment below). The playoffs start next week against a team to be determined. Game time is 7:00PM at Brooks Field. Go Wildcats!
In an effort to raise funds for their library, Milton High School is working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers to host a bookfair at the Barnes & Noble Braintree store.
On Thursday, June 11th, Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of every sale, made with a special bookfair voucher, to the Milton High School Library.
A thank you party for Deval and Diane Patrick was recently held at the home of Judy White-Orlando.
Girl Scout Troop 63081 is having a Summer Kick-Off Dance Party on Friday, May 29th from 6:30-8:30pm at Cunningham Hall. This event is for girls grades 3-5. The cost is $10 per girl. This is a drop off event. There will be door prizes and refreshments for $1 each. This event will help fund an educational field trip to Europe.
