The Blue Hills Trailside Museum has been awarded a $175,000 grant by the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Partnerships Matching Funds Program. Trailside’s grant is part of $1.34 million awarded to 29 capital projects across the state. (Read the full story here.)

A short circuit in the cord on a sump pump sparked a fire that damaged a Lyman Road home Sunday. (Read the full story here.)
This weather has not been terribly helpful where Turner’s Pond is concerned. Work was suspended on the path being replaced with crushed stone due to the winter and the area has been sealed off.
In a short email Dave Perdios indicated that an assessment was being done do determine how badly recent weather may have damaged the path. Work should start-up shortly and with luck the path will be opened in early May.
In only their first year the Milton High School Debate and Speech team has enjoyed tremendous success.
At yesterday’s State Debate Tournament, the pair of Ailsa Jeffries and Maya Rosmarin won first place in the “novice” Public Forum Debate competition.
