You may have noticed that there is a digital display device affixed to town hall just inside the left side entrance. It is an effort on the part of town officials to comply with the open meeting law. You can learn more about the open meeting law that went into effect last July here.
One of the requirements is that meeting notices be available to the public in a timely fashion. This thingamajig does that. But you need to be patient.

Many people asked what was going on this past weekend with the 21 hour a day, 200+ buses on Eliot Street. I had really hoped that we had put this issue well behind us with the replacement van service the MBTA has provided for the past four years, when the trolley has scheduled outages.

Bingo is booming at St. Agatha’s.
Every Monday evening, as many as 400 people, many of them from out of town, take their places at long tables inside the parish auditorium. They sit on metal folding chairs, not to worship but more for the fellowship, bent over rows of cards with colorful ink daubers in hand, listening for numbers and letters to be called, hoping to win so they can yell out “Bingo!’’ (Read the full story here.)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently recognized the Tucker Elementary School and Milton High School as having earned an ENERGY STAR rating.
The Tucker building, located at 187 Blue Hill Parkway and Milton High, located at 25 Gile Road, are now listed on the ENERGY STAR registry at www.energystar.gov/buildinglist. Buildings that earn the EPA’s ENERGY STAR rating use 35 percent less energy and generate 35 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings across the nation.
