A record turnout raises $200,000 for the Milton Foundation for Education
Over 800 parents, teachers, school administrators, and residents had a wonderful night out at the 12th Annual Celebration for Education on April 2 and raised $200,000 for the Milton Public Schools in the process.
Fontbnne hosts students from Argentina
Four students from Colegio Jesus Maria in Argentina and their chaperone arrived at Fontbonne Academy on Sunday, April 3. They will be visiting Fontbonne until April 29, and be immersed in classes and activities for nearly three weeks. The students posed with their hosts, all juniors at Fontbonne Academy, in the Fontbonne Foyer.
Stoughton proposals to stay confidential until decision is made
The proposals from developers for what they would do with and pay for the Stoughton land are under review by the Board of Selectmen The Selectmen are the trustees of the land left by Governor Stoughton to benefit the poor.
In an email exchange with the current chair of the Selectmen, Marion McEttrick, said that the proposals would remain confidential “until and if we select a finalist.” Their review includes input from and is in consultation with the Attorney general’s Office and Town Counsel. The Selectmen have also requested and are waiting for an appraisal of the property.
Raymond Czwakiel Announces Candidacy for Library Board of Trustees

Raymond “Ray” Czwakiel announces his candidacy for election to the Milton Public Library’s board of trustees. Czwakiel graduated with a juris doctorate degree (cum laude) from Boston University School of Law, a master’s degree in business administration from Gonzaga University, a Jesuit school in Spokane, Washington, and a bachelor of science degree in industrial and systems engineering from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
Milton High School Selected as Host Site for AmeriCorps Promise Fellow
Milton High School has been selected to receive an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow to work with school officials to establish a new, creative mentoring program to help at risk students achieve their educational goals. The school is currently working with AmeriCorps to recruit and hire a Promise Fellow who will spend one year at Milton High starting in August. Anyone interested in the position is encouraged to visit the website www.masspromisefellows.org for more information.
