Milton Library Teen Book Club Announces March Selection

The Milton Public Library’s teen book club has selected ttyl by Lauren Myracle as its March pick.  “Told entirely in instant messages, this smart, funny novel is about the humor, hangovers, and heartaches of high school, and the friendships that get you through it all.” Join the book club at 7 p.m. on Monday March 2 in the teen room for discussion and snacks! Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Unless you are a dyed in the wool nature freak that relishes the beauty and vagaries of a ferocious New England winter you might not want to look out the window. because . . . it’s back. Better to get another cup of coffee and a book.

Here is the latest from the DPW, MPD and a caution of roofs from the Building Inspector. Milton has already received over 12″ of snow accoding to the Globe. It doesn’t look that bad to me but at this point I may be snow blind.

State senators to host forum for public in Braintree on Feb. 25

Several state legislators plan to host a public forum on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Braintree Town Hall, giving residents a chance to voice their concerns to their elected leaders.

State Sens. John Keenan, D-Quincy; Brian Joyce, D-Milton; Robert Hedlund, R-Weymouth and Mike Rush, D-West Roxbury, will attend the forum, which is the South Shore leg of the Massachusetts State Senate’s Commonwealth Conversations Tour. (Read the full story here.)

Guess how many millionaires live in Milton

The Boston Business Journal recently put together a study of towns in the Commonwealth with the most millionaires. They rank them by millionaires per square mile. Westwood is the highest ranking south shore community.

Teen & Parents Study Skills Workshop

On Saturday, February 28 from 10am to 11:30am, the Milton Public Library teen department welcomes English teacher and tutor, Eliza Wagner Srestha to host a study skills workshop for any teens in grades 6 to 12 and their parents. The session will be experiential and hands-on focusing on Technology.
