It’s not too late to register for FAVA summer camp
FAVA is continuing to accept applications for their summer camp. There are 4 sessions in July: Film School, Mixed Up Crazy Mixed Media Play Shop, Modern Marvels, and Eco Art.
Sessions run for 1 week, cost $150, are held at Milton High School from 9:00 – 12:00, and open to elementary students. You can learn more about the sessions here and download an application here.
FAVA printmaking workshop a great success!
The Friends and Advocates for the Visual Arts (FAVA) held the second of two art workshops at the library on January 23rd and a fine time was had by all. The printmaking workshop was taught by Karen Hainline and Jess Gillooly with ample assistance from Leesha Boylan, and Milton High School students Miranda Callahan, Katie Comber, Ally Jones and Amelia Quinn. They all helped to make the day a great success.

The art reception yesterday at the library for students of FAVA yesterday was not your genteel art opening. It was busy, boisterous (they’re kids for cryin’ out loud), and fun.
FAVA receives cultural grant; will offer free art workshops
FAVA (The Friends and Advocates of the Visual Arts), a local group that provides arts instruction and advocates for the arts in the elementary schools has been on a bit of a roll recently. They recently submitted a proposal to occupy the East Milton Library, they will be hosting an art opening of student work, and they just received a grant to provide free one day workshops to the children of Milton.

The Milton Friends and Advocates of the Visual Arts will be showcasing student work on January 16th in a group show at the Milton Public Library.
