Last Sunday FAVA (The Friends and Advocates for the Visual Arts) held a 1 hour media workshop. Thirteen student animators shot 460 still frames of clay figures.
Specifically, the students developed little claymation epsisodes. Claymation is a labor intensive animation technique that uses objects sculpted in clay in a stop motion sequence.
This was the first of two media workshops made possible by a grant from the Milton Cultural Council (see related article here).
The second workshop, designed for students in Grades K, 1 and 2 is a printmaking workshops, where students will explore different print making techniques, including monoprints, collagraph and stenciling. The workshop will be held on January 23 from 2-4 pm. To register for this workshop, please contact Karen Hainline (karenhainline@comcast.net) or Jessica Gillooly(jesskgill@hotmail.com).
