Milton contributions to President Obama outpace those to Romney

While I am sure that we have all had our fill of political ads, arguments, debates, etc the following may be of interest. In terms of contributions to the campaigns, Milton contributed $106,612 to President Obama as compared t0 $80,341 to Romney according to figures compiled by the Boston Business Journal as sourced from the Federal Election Commission. Update: Randolph man struck, killed by car on Route 28 in Milton

Temple Shalom of Milton invites the community to an engaging discussion led by Rabbi Fred Benjamin on the historical and sociological factors that prompted the ancient Jewish Hanukah rebellion, and its comparison to today’s Arab Spring. This event will be at the Milton Public Library on Tuesday, November 13th, at 7:15 PM and is free to all.

Dept of Transportation to hold public discussion

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has put together a series of statewide discussions this fall to engage the public in conversations about the transportation system they want and what they need to do to achieve that vision. The purpose of these meetings is to hear from customers and residents in order to generate ideas and help prioritize agency initiatives now and in the future. Please join MassDOT and other Commonwealth leaders in this important discussion that will shape our transportation system for future generations.

The nearest meeting to Milton will be on November 8, 2012 at 6 pm in the Quincy High
School Auditorium.

The scene is a beauty shop, 1987, Louisiana. The ladies come on Saturday not just for beautification and hair-do’s, but for friendship. The play Steel Magnolias, now in performance by the Milton Players, is a 6-woman ensemble piece on a single set, Truvy’s beauty parlor. It is about friendship, emotion, life journeys, and we wish for such friends as these.

Wildcat soccer team moves on in MIAA division play

The Milton boys varsity soccer team prevailed over Norwell yesterday 1-0 in the first round of MIAA South Division 2 play. They will take on the 4th seed Hingham tomorrow at noon in Hingham. Go Wildcats!
