Cradles to Crayons is thrilled to be working with Milton community schools, businesses and civic associations for the 6th Annual Milton Community Drive for Cradles to Crayons. From now thru Saturday November 17th 2012 , multiple community gathering places including Fitness Unlimited, the Milton Police Department, Bent’s Cookie Factory , the Campbell School, The Village School, First Parish Church and all of the Milton Public schools will be asking community members, students and patrons to open their closets and their hearts to donate new and nearly new children’s items to be repurposed into unique “kidpacks” of quality clothing, footwear, books and baby gear for local children in need. School families and member of the public are asked to donate these critically needed items in convenient collection boxes at these and other collection locations throughout Milton or by dropping off donations directly at Cunningham Hall on Saturday November 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The culmination of this annual community collection will be a grand volunteer sorting event on Saturday November 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. at Cunningham Hall. Volunteers are still needed for this sorting event where collected donations are sized and sorted. Families and individuals are welcome to come and volunteer at any time that day and students are eligible to receive community service credits for their help.

“This is the sixth year that residents of Milton have teamed up with Cradles to Crayons to support a town-wide collection for local children in need , “said Kathy Fagan, Milton resident and Director of Community Outreach for Cradles to Crayons . “In addition to creating a convenient way for families and individuals to clean out their closets and donate critically needed quality children’s items , it is also a great life lesson to our children that, no matter their age , they all have the power to help other children who are less fortunate simply by donating their quality clothing and children’s items they no longer need. Cradles to Crayons hopes to help over 50,000 Massachusetts children aged newborn to 12 this year, but can only do this with the help of generous and caring communities like Milton . Please open your closets and help Cradles to Crayons keep local children safe , warm and ready to learn. Thank you ,Milton !”
