Three candidates filed papers for the open seat on the Board of Selectmen: Bob Sweeney, Steven Fruzzetti, and Kathy Fagan, the incumbent. As reported in the Milton Times yesterday, Mr. Frezzetti has made the decision not to run.

Fruzzetti as motivated to file papers because he believed Fagan would be running unopposed. When he learned of Sweeney’s intent to run and his position on the issues, which are largely in alignment with his, he elected to bow out.

Fruzzetti’s departure makes the run for the Selectman’s seat a two person race and this will tighten the race.  Fruzzetti would likely have split votes from Sweeney. You can read the Milton Times story here.
