Brendan McLaughlin, current Chair of the Library Trustees, announces his candidacy for re-election as Library Trustee for the Milton Public Library.
“The Milton Public Library is providing great value to the people of Milton. Every measure of library usage is at record levels,” says McLaughlin, “and the town is seeing the benefit of its investment in the library. We also receive critical support from volunteers and private donors and it is important to keep this public-private partnership strong.”
Since his election three years ago, McLaughlin also served as Treasurer to the Library Trustees. Prior to his election as a Library Trustee McLaughlin was a member of the Town of Milton Warrant Committee where he worked closely with other committee members and town officials and become familiar with Milton’s revenue, budgets, and financial challenges.
McLaughlin understands the importance of a modern library to a town like Milton. “Many people worked to build our new library. It requires careful financial management to make sure that the library continues to deliver for the town and remains attractive to the volunteers and private donors who support our mission. If re-elected, I look forward to working with the other trustees, the director, and staff to ensure that the library can deliver its important services to the town.”
McLaughlin is a graduate of Boston Latin School, the Boston College School of Management, and has his Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University. McLaughlin is the founder of Westglow Technology Consulting, which focuses on helping non-profits to support their specific missions through the better use of technology. He was formerly Vice President of the North American business unit at Cambridge Technology Consulting and has over 20 years of management experience.
