If you use the bike path (Neponset Greenway) you may have noticed cnstruction on old railroad bridge that crosses the Neponset just in from Central Avenue.

The DCR has contracted to have the bridge reparied and it appears to be fairly close to complete. I jogged by there early this morning and crews were there, as was a black Cadillac limo, not sure what that was about.

The sides have all been repainted, the tracks and ties torn up, and new boards laid down. The bridge will connnect the Greenway with the path that runs along the opposite side of the river. It’s too bad there isn’t easy pedestrian access to the Shaws Market. In any event, the walkway should afford nice views of the river.
