Fontbonne Academy Introduces Tablet Instruction

Fontbonne Academy is proud to announce the introduction of a One-to-One learning initiative, using Apple iPads during the school year 2013-2014. The Class of 2017, the current ninth grade, will be given iPads for the school year and usher in tablet learning for the school.

“Molly” overdoses at Quincy’s Ocean Club lead to arrests

There are a number of news stories regarding “Molly”,  a form of the popular club drug Ecstasy. It is all bad news. While the specifics of the following are not related to Milton, some stories have universal concern.

Judge Hurd was remarkable and, doubtless, his obituary will list his achievements, accomplishments and successes. They were many. And there will be many stories told and memories recalled.

MPD update for Milton Residents – As you know we have issued multiple alerts regarding nighttime breaks of cars and in some cases homes.

First, we appreciate the calls and emails. Very important. In the past week we have responded to many SP calls. Officer Ronald Purcell stopped and questioned a South Shore man on foot at 1am on Monday in the Central Ave area.

ReminderMilton/Quincy Cong. Rosh Hashanah Open House

The New Milton/Quincy Congregation, formerly Temple Shalom of Milton, will hold a Prospective Member Open House on Thursday, Sept. 5th, beginning with its Tashlich Service at 5:00 p.m. at Turner’s Pond on Central Avenue in Milton. Tashlich is the symbolic casting away of sins on Rosh Hashanah by throwing bread onto the water. 

St. Michael’s Church School to begin 9/15

St. Michael’s Church School will begin on Sunday September 15. Three-year-olds through first-graders start Sunday morning with church school followed by Children’s Chapel. Children in grades 2-6 begin Sunday morning with church school and join their families midway into the 10am Sunday service. Parents are asked to assist in teaching church school on three consecutive Sundays during the school year.

Town owned portion of Hendries property put out to bid

The Selectmen have posted an RFP for bids for purchase of the town owned portion of the Hendries property on Central Avenue. The ~7,000 sq ft piece of Milton history can be yours for $240,000, the minimum established asking price. The property is being sold “as is” and there are conditions and requirements for bid proposers.

Park Dept holding trip to Foxwoods

The Milton Park Department Will be holding a trip to Foxwoods Resort and Casino on Friday, October 4th, 2013. This trip is for adults only and tickets cost $30.00 per person.
