Notice from the Milton Police Department (you can friend them on Facebook)
MPD update for Milton Residents – As you know we have issued multiple alerts regarding nighttime breaks of cars and in some cases homes.
First, we appreciate the calls and emails. Very important. In the past week we have responded to many SP calls. Officer Ronald Purcell stopped and questioned a South Shore man on foot at 1am on Monday in the Central Ave area. He had a long drug history and was in possession of class B narcotics. While we did not connect him to any crimes in Milton, he fit the profile and could not explain why he was out in this neighborhood at such a late time. he was arrested on narcotics violations.
Second, we have told you this is a regional issue. On Tuesday morning. Randolph Police arrested a Milton man breaking into a Randolph residence at 6:00 am. This subject has a long criminal history of property crimes and is well known to MPD.
Third, early this morning we took a call from a resident of Decker St, who heard his car alarm go off. He was able to describe multiple suspects he saw by his car and running from the vehicle. First arriving officers determined the car had been entered. A perimeter was set up and a State Police K9 brought into assist. The officers tracked the suspects to a home on the lower end of Brush Hill Rd., where the K9 located (2) Boston men hiding behind the house. Officers linked them back to the car break on Decker. Subsequent investigation indicates that they may have entered multiple cars on Crown St. and Essex Rd. during the night. They have been arrested on felony charges and are in Quincy District Court to be arraigned today.
Last- the night break-ins into occupied homes went over a week without incident. We (MPD) have initiated numerous initiatives, yet this morning a resident of Cabot St, discovered their home had been entered overnight via and unlocked rear window. No one heard or saw anything. Multiple items were taken. If you saw or heard anything, between 1am and 5am in the Carey/Cabot/Hurlcroft/Pillon Rd. neighborhood last night. please reach out to Detectives at 617-898-4804.
