Notice from the Milton Health Department

The Milton Board of Health will be holding a general public flu clinic on Thursday, October 10th from 4 – 7 pm at the Senior Center/Council on Aging, 10 Walnut Street. This clinic is open to all Milton residents ages 4 and up. We are able to accept Medicare B and most other HMO’s so please bring your insurance cards with you. If you do not have health insurance, we will also have state supplied vaccine available to you free of charge.

Convicted Art Thief Myles to make rare public appearance at Milton Art Center on 9/26

He did the time, now ask about his crime. Myles J. Connor, Jr. wrote his autobiography with Jenny Siler, The Art of The Heist: Confessions of a Master Thief, and will make an extraordinarily rare appearance to talk about his life and involvement in art heists. The event will be at the Milton Art Center, 334 Edge Hill Street in Milton (02186) from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 at a public discussion led by Suzette Martinez Standring.

3rd Annual Fit for Life Walk/Run to benefit COA

Plans are well underway for our 3rd Annual FIT FOR LIFE WALK/RUN which will take place on Saturday, October 5th, at 9 AM. This is the Council on Aging’s major fundraiser for van transportation. Last year, they added many other components to the walk which really helped make it a financial success.

Pam’s Run for Neighbor Brigade

Pam Washek, the founder of Neighbor Brigade, always dreamed of holding a 5k to raise funds for her beloved Neighbor Brigade. She would be so thrilled to know her dream is coming true! Pam’s Run is being held on Saturday, October 5 at 10:00am in Wayland, MA where she grew up.

Beth Greenwalt to answer questions on parenting at Toy Box

Milton residents Jay and Julie Ritchie, owners of The Toy Box in Hanover have invited Milton resident Beth Greenawalt, owner of Parent-Solutions Parent Coaching (www.parent-solutions.com 617-833-3928) to The Toy Box on Thursday and Friday Sept. 26th and 27th from 10-12.

Beth will be available to answer your parenting questions and parents will have the opportunity to register to win a free hour of parent coaching. To get to The Toy Box, take rt. 3 to exit 13, turn right onto rt. 53 1/2 mile down, across from South Shore “Y”.

Fontbonne to host Walk for the Ellie Fund

Fontbonne Academy will host The Walk for the Ellie Fund, a 5-mile walk thought the streets of Milton on Sunday, September 29. The walk will begin at 8:15 a.m. Student, friends, family, alumnae, and neighbors will gather at Fontbonne and walk to help make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
