Concert on the Green at Fuller Village with Sergeant Dan Clark, the Singing Trooper

Celebrate summer with a live concert sponsored by generous donations from The Bank of Canton and Partners Healthcare at Home.

Sergeant Dan Clark, the Singing Trooper, will perform on Thursday, August 15th. As a former United States Marine and retired Massachusetts State Trooper he has lived the motto “God, Country, Corps!” From his extensive performance background as a young adult with All-State and All-Eastern Choirs, The Tanglewood Young Vocalist Program, and the College Light Opera Company Sgt Clark merged into ‘The Singing Trooper’ named by Gov. Michael Dukakis who introduced him to the great Boston Pops Orchestra.

Reminder: MPD invite all to National Night Out Celebration

The Milton Police Department invite all to their annual Nation Night Out Celebration to be held on Wednesday, August 7th from 6:00 – 9:00pm  at the police headquarters on 40 Highland Street. There will be a police vehicle display, canine demonstrations, bouncy houses, cook out and much more!

Bestselling author Lissa Price to visit Milton Library

Bestselling young adult author Lissa Price will discuss her award-winning debut novel, Starters, at the Milton Public Library (476 Canton Avenue, Milton, MA 01286) at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9. The event is open to all ages and admission is free. Copies of the book will be available for purchase from the New England Mobile Book Fair. Milton Reads film series: To Catch a Thief at the Milton Library

A free movie, To Catch A Thief will play at the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton in the Keys Community Room (lower level) on Monday, August 5 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the Oscar winning film stars Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. When a reformed jewel thief is suspected of returning to his former occupation, he must ferret out the real thief in order to prove his innocence.

Milton Quincy Congregation to Hold Open House

The New Milton/Quincy Congregation, formerly Temple Shalom of Milton, will hold its annual Fall Open House on Friday evening, August 16th from 5:30-8 p.m., as part of a Shabbat-N-Splash Pool Party, BYO Dairy Picnic and Family Service, at a private home in Milton. All interested families in the South Shore and Greater Boston area are invited to attend, and can get more information by emailing or calling the congregation office at 617-698-3394. 

Teen Summer Reading Celebration

The Teen Services department of the Milton Library will celebrate the end of summer reading with a pizza party at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13. Summer reading participants can pick up prizes and the Young Adult Librarian will announce the winner of the grand prize drawing for a $100 Barnes and Noble gift card.

Photographer McDaniel to celebrate 10 years with exhibit at MPL

The Milton Public Library will host an exhibit by local baby photographer Jessica McDaniel in the Wotiz Gallery during the month of August 2013. Ms. McDaniel started her business called “Boston Baby Photos” in May 2003, and now, 1,393 photoshoots later, she is approaching her ten year anniversary as a baby photographer.

Open House to meet Dan Cullinane, candidate for 12th Suffolk legislative seat

Carolyn Cahill is hosting a meet and greet with Dan Cullinane, candidate for the Massachusetts Representative from the 12th Suffolk district tonight, Thursday July 25th,from  7-8:30pm at 40 Essex. The 12th district includes Precincts 1 & 2 in Milton. Wine and Cheese will be served.  All interested precinct 1 &2 residents are invited meet Dan and learn about him and the reasons why he wants to represent the 12th.

Comics + Cartooning workshop with Andy and Veronica Fish

On August 6 at 6:30 p.m., the Milton Public Library is offering a free comic book workshop for teens with comic artists Andy and Veronica Fish. Did you know that jazz, rock and roll, and the comic book are the only art forms created in the United States?
