The New Milton/Quincy Congregation, formerly Temple Shalom of Milton, will hold its annual Fall Open House on Friday evening, August 16th from 5:30-8 p.m., as part of a Shabbat-N-Splash Pool Party, BYO Dairy Picnic and Family Service, at a private home in Milton. Visitors will get to meet Rabbi Alfred Benjamin and Education Director Nancy Mollitor, learn about the Temple’s programs and activities, and enjoy some refreshments. Temple membership information will also be available. There will be a second opportunity to explore the New Congregation at its Tashlich service at Turner’s Pond on Central Ave., Milton, on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, Thursday, September 5th at 5 p.m. New visitors who call ahead and attend either Open House may receive complimentary seats for one High Holiday service.
The New Milton/Quincy Congregation is also accepting registrations to its Rabbi Jerome Weistrop Religious School, which meets on Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. Under the leadership of Education Director Nancy Mollitor, the school has small class sizes and a very active and innovative curriculum, including unique holiday celebrations, pre-school-age Story Hour, Family Learner’s services, field trips, Bar/Bat Mitzvah classes, teenage discussion groups with Rabbi Benjamin, Jewish film appreciation, and Holiday Family Activity days.
