MHS Bulletin for 09.23.09

  • Group Guidance: Seniors in Group 12B must report to the Library promptly at 9:22 today for their second session of Group Guidance. On Thursday, Seniors in Group 12C must report to the Library for their second session of Group Guidance. Attendance will be taken.
  • Library: Several students have not returned books that were checked
  • out of the library last year. Please return them to Mrs. Clark in the library any day between 12 and 4.
  • Spanish Club: The Spanish Club meeting was postponed until today,
  • Wednesday, immediately after school in room 313.
  • Art Club: The Art Club is having a meeting today at 7:20 am. The club will be making Walkathon posters.

  • Attention former soccer, rugby, or other ‘futbol’ athletes: Think about joining the football team as a kicker or punter. See Coach Bowes in room 224.
  • Asian Culture Club members attending Anime Boston MUST attend a meeting after school today in Mr. Young’s room to pick up permission slips.
  • All Night Party: Sunday, May 31 (graduation day) from 10:30 pm to 5:00 am. Tickets are on sale for $50 each at all the lunches. Every senior is invited – great food, music, fun activities, yearbook signing, comic/hypnotist show.
  • Current Sophomores and Juniors interested in applying to be a Student Leader should get an application in room 114, and submit it before May 22nd.
  • Film Club will have its last meeting after school today. All members must attend.
  • Community Service: 1. Pierce Middle School is looking for volunteers on Monday, May 18th to help set up an English Resource Library located behind the gym (directional signs will be posted). You may volunteer at any time between 2:30 and 8:30 pm. Please contact Mrs. Deluca at k.deluca@comcast.net. 2. Milton Hospital needs 20 volunteers on May 30th from 8 am to 4 pm. Please contact Ms. Samora at robinsamora@aol.com. Please sign up early as they need to plan ahead. 3. Pierce PTO needs students to volunteer on May 21st from 7 to 9 pm. Students to the testing location by 7:45. Students who arrive late to the Library will NOT be allowed to sit for the exam. NO EXCEPTIONS. Students taking AP Exams are expected to attend school the full day, and will only be excused from classes missed which take place during their exam.

  • Teacher Appreciation Week:  Thank you to the Student Leaders, under the guidance of   Ms. Masciarelli, Ms. Parsons, Mr. Pullia and Mr. Midura for spearheading the events of this past week.  Thank you to Mrs. Lovett, the students in foods and to Mrs. Turner; thank you  to Dr. Burdett, Mrs. Damiani, Mr. Good and the students in the music department, and thank you to the administration and to the PTSFO! You all brought such joy to Milton High School with the delightful music, the mailbox surprises, the inspirational posters, the wonderful baked goods, and the many kind notes. The faculty and staff are very grateful!

Today, students will take Computer Science in the morning and Statistics in the afternoon.  Students taking AP Exams are expected to attend school the full day, and will only be excused from classes missed which take place during their exam.
  • Attention!  Anyone who missed the Poetry Jam this weekend can still get a copy of the Anthology of all the poems in the show, including Princesse’s original works.  They are available for $5 in the main office or in room 211 before and after school.  Proceeds will go to a summer camp scholarship for Saraphina Revelus.
  • Any Juniors who purchased prom tickets must pick up tickets and information regarding the prom before and after school or during activity period in Mrs. Damiani’s room. All tickets must be picked up by Thursday, May 7, after school.

MHS Bulletin for 04.29.09

  • Today, Juniors in Group 11B will meet for their final session of group guidance and on Thursday, April 30, Juniors in Group 11C will meet for their final session.
  • Any AP students who missed their pre-registration session will meet in the cafeteria during Activity Period on Wednesday.
  • College Mini-Fair for Juniors on Thursday from 8:45 to 9:18 in the Field House.  We are expecting sixty college representatives.  The list is available on Edline and in the guidance office. Thursday is a B Block Day and students must obtain a pass in guidance and have it signed by their B period teacher. Only juniors with signed passes will be admitted.
  • Debate Club will have a brief meeting today directly after school at 2:20 in room 212 to confirm the next topic of debate.
  • Asian Culture Club will meet today to discuss elections and t-shirts.
  • Seniors:  Please remember to bring in a small envelope (with one 42 cent stamp) addressed to the college you will be attending.  Also, bring in all your acceptance (or rejection) letters for your counselor to copy.  This information is extremely important for the counselors in compiling statistical data.  Thank you for your cooperation.
