Brookline boys cross country besat Milton, Wellesley

Although its Bay State Conference winning streak is now in its sixth straight season and counting, coach Mike Glennon’s squad has run into some close calls along the way. The Warriors were challenged once again in their season’s opening tri-meet versus Milton and Wellesley at Houghton’s Pond on Sept. 14. Brookline easily defeated the hometown Marauders, 15-49, but the Raiders hung tough before Brookline picked up a 24-35 victory. (Read the full story here.)

. .. and meawhile there’s the Governor’s race

There were no party contests for governor in yesterday’s primaries.  But the three chosen ones; incumbent Duval Patrick,  Republican Charlie Baker, and Independent Timothy Cahill mixed it up in a debate in Braintree hosted WBZ’s Dan Rea.

MHS Marching Band takes the field!

Last Saturday the MHS Marching Band made its debut at the opening home game between the Wildcats and the Needham Rockets.

The outcome of the game was not a pleasant one for Milton. They were defeated 35-20; but the band provided color, spirit, and fun! Their next game is at home against Norwood on 9/16.

Mac D'Alessandro stops to speak with residents on way to polls

These folks voted and so should you.

While the Governor’s race is uncontested at the party level there are other races that matter and a number have Milton residents hoping to will voter approval and move on to the general election in November.
