Lynch clinches – D’Alessandro concedes; Burr tops Livingston; Morrisey dominates DA race

Mac D’Alessandro conceded to Congressman Lynch; but the Milton resident and candidate for Congress, Mac D’Alessandro, did not go quietly into that good night. Speaking to a gathering of supporters at Abby Park restaurant in East Milton D’Alessandro said,”We sent a message tonight .  .  . and he (Lynch) heard the message.”

He continued, “Lynch now knows we are paying attention. He will think twice before he votes against working families.” D’Alessandro was referring to Lynch’s vote on health care reform.

Lynch won with 65% of the votes. In the general election he will take on Vernon Harrison who won the Republican primary.

D’Alessandro thanked his family and the groups and organizations that helped him “start from zero.” He closed by saying, “Let’s see what tomorrow brings.”

On the Republican ticket, Bob Burr beat Miltonian Richard Livingston 2,903 to 1,704.

Michael Morrisey won the race for Norfolk DA on the Democratic ballt handily with 47% of the vote to Driscoll’s 37% and Milton resident Michael Chinman’s 16%.
