During the month of June 2015, the Milton Public Library will display the art of local resident Joyce Caggiano. Ms. Caggiano has been drawing and painting since childhood and has received many honors for her work. During the past 20 years she has exhibited at Gross Pointe and Detroit, MI; Burlington, VT; at the Jefferson Cutter House in Arlington, MA; and at the Milton Art Center.

MHS Rugby on way to state finals!
The Wildcats defeated Lincoln-Sudbury 44 -15 Tuesday night to cap an undefeated season and pave the way for their trip to the Div 2 State Championships this week end in Worcester. They will take on Brookline Saturday at the 2015 MYRO State Championship and Jamboree at Foley Field (305 Chandler St, Worcester). Game time is 10:00AM. Good Luck Wildcats!

May Stone Soup Puts the Spotlight on the Wakefield Estate’s Extraordinary Chinese Dogwoods May 28!
Just in time for the Wakefield Estate’s Dogwood Days June 14-21, their May Stone Soup and Speaker will offer a portrait of estate’s signature tree: Cornus kousa, the Chinese Dogwood. Deb Merriam, the estate’s Landscape Director, will share the intriguing story of this tree and Polly Wakefield’s love affair with the species.
Milton Schools Pitch In to Green Up the Blue Hills!
All are invited to join the Friends of the Blue Hills for a spring festival of stewardship and fun. The annual Green Up Day will be held on Sunday, May 31, from 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Ponkapoag AMC Cabins. Volunteers will enjoy music, food, face painting, crafts and a scavenger hunt while helping with an essential task: pulling up invasive weeds that threaten the Blue Hills.

Senator Brian A. Joyce (D-Milton) announced the passage of two budget amendments to provide funding for improvements to the Milton Public Library and the Forbes House Museum. The amendments, filed by Joyce, passed the Senate late Tuesday night during the first of several days of debate on the budget.
Youth Conservation Corps has jobs for students ages 15-18
There are 4 summer job positions reserved for Milton residents ages 15-18 with the Youth Conservation Corps working from Monday July 6- Friday August 14. Working as part of a team, youth will engage in physical work projects to improve parks and natural areas while learning about conservation, horticulture and local greenspace efforts.

Update (4:45pm) – The suspect in today’s arrest Jacqueline Scott, was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing in Quincy Court on May 29th.
Just after 3:00 am today Milton Police Communications received a series of 911 calls from residents of an apartment building located at 36 Eliot St. (Milton Hill House.)
The initial calls indicated that a resident on the third floor was “yelling for help.” Additional information revealed that an ambulance was needed.
