The Milton Public Library is starting a Teen Advisory Group (TAG) and Milton teens are invited to join! The TAG will meet monthly to promote teen leadership and involvement in the library. To be a TAG member, you must be between the ages of 13 -18 and be willing to work creatively in a team

East Congregational invites community to “Welcome Back” service

East Congregational Church extends an invitation to the community to come to their “Welcome Back” service on Sunday, September 9, at 10 am. The church’s new interim pastor, Rev. Mark Seifried will be preaching. The new Christian Education Directors will also begin registering children for the new church school year.

Vice President Biden meets Siobhan O’Grady!!

Siobhan O’Grady, well-known for her political activism during her high school days in Milton, meets Vice President Joe Biden during a campaign stop in West York, PA. Siobhan is currently a senior at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, where she is double-majoring in Political Science and French. That is Siobhan on the left.

Henry Forbes, 87; set up museum in Milton for Asian export art

In the mid-1960s, Henry Forbes turned his family’s Milton Greek Revival mansion into what is now the Forbes House Museum and devoted his career to showcasing Asian export art. He later merged his collection with the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. The museum “merged his tremendous aesthetic sense and his historical scholarship, and that’s really what created it, what enabled him to really preside over the founding of the discipline of Asian export art,” said his son Robert. Milton Cultural Council Hosts Information Session at Town Hall September 19

Artists, educators, and representatives from non-profit organizations and schools are invited to an informational session from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19 at Milton Town Hall, in the Cronin Room, hosted by the Milton Cultural Council. Come and learn how to fill out a grant application and see what the Council is all about.

Jobs, Social Security, Taxes, and a reduction in the Military Budget to appear on the November 6 ballot in Massachusetts

The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office has approved the placement of a non-binding public policy question with a strong “anti-austerity” message regarding the budget debate in Washington on the November 6 ballot in House and Senate districts across the Commonwealth.

Healthy again, Hill is set to make his return

MPD News: Sovereign Bank held up; worker suffers fatal incident

MPD was very active in East Milton this evening [8/30]. Just after 6pm a male subject walked into the Sovereign Bank on Adams St and robbed the establishment. MPD recovered significant evidence inside and outside the bank. The investigation very active at this time.
