Artists, educators, and representatives from non-profit organizations and schools are invited to an informational session from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19 at Milton Town Hall, in the Cronin Room, hosted by the Milton Cultural Council. Come and learn how to fill out a grant application and see what the Council is all about.
This year’s grant deadline is Monday, October 15, 2012. Grant awards generally range $150 to $500 and will support a variety of arts, humanities, and interpretive science activities in Milton — including exhibits, festivals, artist residencies, demonstrations or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures. (Note: You do not need to attend the meeting on September 19th to apply or be considered for a grant.)
The Milton Cultural Council is the local panel supported through the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which endeavors to support and promote local, community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences. The Council is made up of community members who vote on grants submitted on an annual basis. “We believe that arts and culture are essential to a thriving educational system and vibrant community. We actively encourage artists, schools, and non-profit organizations to submit grants for consideration to the Cultural Council,” said Co-chair Tosin Olaniyan.
