Milton Yoga held an “open house” yesterday on the town green. Folks had the opportunity to participate in free yoga workouts. Yoga has become something of a fitness sensation recently. “Segregated Worlds” Film Series hosted by Jeff Stoodt @ MPL
The Milton Public Library and Pierce Middle School teacher Jeff Stoodt will host 3 films during Fall 2012 to help celebrate the themes in Milton Reads’ choice, To Kill A Mockingbird. The movie series is called “Segregated Worlds” and is geared towards an adult audience.

Police break up huge ‘Make it Nasty’ mansion pool party with 1,500 revelers
Good grief – Milton made international news last week. The British paper The Daily Mail picked up the story about a rather sensational party that occurred here in Milton last week.

Police in Milton took one and a half hours to break up an enormous pool party where up to 1,500 revelers were dancing the night away at an exclusive Massachusetts mansion.
The event, which promotional fliers called the ‘Make it Nasty Mansion Pool Party’ took place on the evening of Friday August 31st and carried on well into Saturday morning. (Read the full story here.)

Mtg Notes: School Committee 09.05.12 – STEM program presented; committee defers capping French
Holly Concannon (Elem math & K-8 Technology Coordinator) and Marilyn Decker (K-12 Technology Coordinator) presented the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) curriculum program to the committee. The program is being offered for students enrolled in the English strand only. Initially it will be part of the Grade 1 curriculum with the intent to expand up the grades going forward.
Temple Shalom to hold Open House

Temple Shalom of Milton will hold its annual Fall Open House on Sunday, September 16th, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Temple’s interim religious school site at the Pierce Middle School, 451 Central Avenue. All interested families in the South Shore and Greater Boston area are invited to attend.
New Pastor serving at East Congregational Church
Eric and Sara Marean officially ceased being co-pastors at East Congregational Church at the end of August. the church now has an interim pastor, Mark Seifried, serving during the search process for a new settled pastor. A brief introduction to Pastor Seifried is on the East Congregational web site here.
