Milton Art Center Seeks Community Input for CSArt Program

Milton Art Center (MAC) recently received a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to help plan the launch of a community supported art (CSArt) program which will promote local artists by bringing their art into the hands of community members through a model based on community supported agriculture.

Former Milton High hoopster Rene Castro to attend Butler

Reminder: Dramatic reading of To Kill a Mockingbird today

There Milton High School Drama Club and the Milton Players will collaborate to present a dramatic readings from the play based on the novel To Kill a Mockingbird.  The event takes place on Sunday, October 28 at 2:00pm in the Keys Community Room of the Milton Library. The event is part of the Milton Reads! 2012 program of events.

Healthy Eating Workshop, Milton Public Library

Break the cycle of junk food and other unhealthy eating choices. A nutrition and wellness workshop is set for Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 7pm, in the Keys Community Room of the Milton Public Library located at 476 Canton Avenue, Milton 02186. Registered dietician Maisie Ostrye, MS, RD, LDN will offer advice on ways to break bad eating habits and the connection between moods and food choices. Find out what foods can boost your mood and energy levels. Ms. Ostrye is with “A Healthy Balance” in Quincy and holds a certificate in Sports Nutrition.

MPD alert public re: MA has been declared a state of emergency

ADVISORY- Governor Patrick has just declared a “State of Emergency” for all of Massachusetts. Forecasters are expecting a signifcant hit for our area from Hurricane Sandy. This storm is more significant than the 2011 TS Irene, both in the enormous size and the duration. We are expecting it will impact our community 12 hours plus, beginning by 8 am Monday morning.

GOOAALLL! Milton tops Brookline 2-1

Their last game will be at Veterans Stadium in North Quincy against North Quincy this afternoon (Saturday) @ 2:00. This is the second leg of the annual Town Line Cup tournament. The tournament consists of two games (one home and one away). The total scores of the 2 game series wins the tournament. Go Wildcats!
