St. Agatha Parish in Milton will be sponsoring a three day mission on February 26-28 from 7-8 p.m. each night. The theme of the mission is “Faith in Challenging Times,” and people of all denominations and parishes are warmly invited to attend. The mission will be held in the main church with light refreshments immediately following on the first and third nights.
Due to the snow storm, the Wakefield Estate’s Backyard Chicken workshop has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday and there is still room for those who would like to attend. It will take place on February 16th from 9:00 – 11:30. It generally draws a “standing room only” crowd. Registration is required.
This program has been rescheduled (from Feb 9th) due to snow.
Susan Clare will discuss and demonstrate crafting with repurposed fabrics on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of The Milton Public Library, located at 476 Canton Avenue. “Sew-stainability” will highlight saving money, supporting sustainability, and making attractive and useful fabric items for personal use and as gifts.
Brookwood’s 2013 Goods and Services Auction is well underway with an exciting selection of items. You can still find incredible bargains on a weekend beach getaway, dinners at local restaurants, private yoga classes for you and your friends, and so much more.

The Warrant Committee detoured the development of the East Milton deck last night. The Board of Selectmen had submitted an article to determine “what sum of money the Town will vote to appropriate for design of improvements to M. Joseph Manning Park and East Milton Square. . . “. Based on a motion made, seconded and passed almost unanimously, all but one member, that amount is $0.00. After discussion Selectmen Chair Tom Hurley and Town Planner Bill Clark agreed to seek funding from the Capital Improvements Committee.

The on-street parking ban that was implemented due to the snow storm has now been lifted. Residents may resume normal on-street parking according to town by-lays. The Town of Milton would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation.
The public comment deadline regarding the FAA flight plan is now extended to March 15
Senator Brian A. Joyce has announced that the FAA will extend its comment period 30 days to allow the public to weigh in on the revised departure route from Boston Logan International Airport that could affect residents of Milton, Canton and Randolph.
The festive Jewish holiday of Purim will be celebrated at Temple Shalom of Milton this year with a Community Purim Celebration for all ages on Saturday evening, February 23rd, in the Great Hall of First Congregational Church, 495 Canton Avenue, Milton. Everyone is welcome.

Margaret Eberhardt, President of the Milton Foundation for Education, and fellow member Don Greene announced that the MFE in a funding partnership with the Copeland Foundation is developing a strategic initiative to bring secure wireless capability to all of Milton’s public schools. Once complete, it will put Milton public schools “in the forefront of digital education,” according to Ms. Eberhardt.
