Midway through the first half yesterday at Cold Spring Park, Newton North’s Guillaume Kugener fielded a long pass off a high hop in the box. The senior forward lifted the ball over the Milton High goalkeeper’s head, only to watch it bounce in front of the net and over the crossbar.

“I just lost my focus, I looked up at the goalie,” Kugener said after the 2-0 loss. “You never look up at the goalie, you look at the ball. I just looked up at the goalie, and lost sight of the ball, and just shot it.” (Read the full story here.)
