Last Friday, St. Mary of the Hills celebrated Halloween with the annual costume parade in the school yard. Parents were invited to a Principal’s Coffee with Mary Carberry in the morning to chat and enjoy bagels graciously donated by Brueger’s Bagels in East Milton.
The parade kicked off with a “Thriller” performance from a group of students, lead by gym teacher, Mr. A. Then pre-school through second grade paraded around the school yard to show off their Halloween costumes to the rest of the school and parents.
“FROZEN” characters were very popular this year as 13 students and 1 teacher dressed up as Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, and one adorable Olaf! Corduroy the Bear also stopped by for a visit to promote the school book fair this coming Saturday (Nov 8) at Barnes and Noble in Braintree.
Eighth Grader, Aine Farrell, lead the Junior National Honor Society in a special “Halloween Cake Decorating Contest” to raise money for the organization. Nineteen cakes were designed by students and then raffled off to the rest of the school. Decorator winners included Daniel Clarke, Jaed Jean-Michel and Mia Porter. The fundraiser raised more than $200.
St. Mary of the Hills looks forward to these special events to show school spirit and worked together as a community.
Great things are happening at St. Mary of the Hills! Congratulations!
