Last year School Committee member Becky Padera had a cool idea. In a nutshell – host an Iron Chef competition for kids. This is the second year of the event and the photos speak for themselves. There were teams of 3 elementary school students who were  joined by a local chef to prepare a meal from a “secret basket” of ingredients. The chefs who donated their time to this event were Lola Sotomayor Ellis from Ester, Lauren Barone from The Seasoned Palette, Tony Terienzo from Abby Park, Tim Doherty from Blue Hills Grille and Gabe Quinones from Whole Foods Dedham.

James Jette, principal of MHS, served as emcee. Congratulations to Ms. Padera and all the contestants and a big thanks to the chefs that donated their time and energy to help develop a love cooking and good food.
