Three members of Fontbonne class of ’15 commended in National Merit Scholarship Competition

Susan M. Degnan ’79, Head of School at Fontbonne Academy, is pleased to announce that Jacqueline Montminy, Jessie Clegg and Victoria Crowley, members of the Class of 2015, have been named Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.  A letter of commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors. 

This is the third year in a row that Fontbonne Academy students have been named as commended students in this national competition.  About 34,000 Commended Student throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although they will not continue in the 2015 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2015 competition by taking the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT.NMSQT®).

“We are very proud of these young women for this accomplishment,” said Ms. Degnan.  “They represent the ideal of the Fontbonne woman of courage, confidence, wisdom and grace.”

Fontbonne Academy is a Catholic, all-girls high school located in Milton.  It is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston.
