Teen Read Week at the Milton Library

On the week of October 14th, join us for TEEN READ WEEK! Celebrate Teen Read Week 2014 with the teen department after school! This year’s theme is Turn Dreams into Reality and on that note, the teen librarian Amy Rosa will have an ongoing suggestion list that whole week to request books, graphic novels, manga, magazines or video games to order for the teen room.

The top five requested items will be ordered by Miss Amy for the collection and the requestees will be honored with a thank you note somewhere inside the item. So teens… ready… set… request!
Also ongoing this week after school, show off your poetry skills and put together a display of Spine Label Poetry in the teen room. Spine Label Poetry is when you use the titles of books to put together a poem by stacking the books one on top of another to create lines in the poem. Displays will be showcased this week in the teen room with a placecard with the writer’s name and title of their poem. People are also encouraged to vote on their favorites and the winning display will be photographed and put up on the library’s website and blog.
Teen Read Week is open to any teens in grades 6 to 12 and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Please contact Amy Rosa, Teen Librarian, at (617) 698-5757 or aboivin@ocln.org with questions or comments.
