After a period of relative calm in terms of criminal theft, there were three break ins this past week: One on Thompson Lane, one on Valley Road, and one on Lancaster Lane.
Neighborhood residents have said that the break ins occurred during the day and items stolen were electronics and cameras. Police report that, while there are similarities to the break ins, it cannot be known at this time if they are connected. Residents are advised to keep their homes locked when away or running errands, communicate with neighbors, and not to hesitate to notify the police of any suspicious activity.
Deputy Chief King states, “If your gut tells you that person in your neighbor’s yard might not belong there, then call us. Do not worry if he turns out to be a legitimate worker. Both your neighbor and us (the police) will be glad you called regardless. Suspicious person(s) and suspicious car(s) calls by residents often lead to our most B&E arrests.”
A reminder to my neighbors:
617-698-1212 from your cell phone is the quickest connection to MPD.
911 goes to MA State Police which causes a delay in the proper response from MPD
Partial License plates are better than known if you see a car leaving the area.
People changes shirts ( inside out/one over the other etc) suspects only bring one pair of shoes — look at them!
Look out for your each other.
