Yesterday night (Friday) Jonathan Carrera won his first two matches. He beati New Milford,  Connecticut wrestler Brett Leonard by major decision 11-3. In the second match he bested previously unbeaten Vermont State Champion Nolan Viens 7-5.

On Saturday, Carrera beat Ponaganset RI wrestler Tyler Noury 3-1 in the quarterfinals. In his next match, Carerra dominated another previously unbeaten State Champion – this one from Connecticut. Carrera had a great match against Howard Kilpatrick from Connecticut’s Bacon Academy in the semifinals, winning 8-1.

Carrera faced Dedham’s Eric Reyes of Dedham tonight for the New England Championship at 145 pounds. Eric Reyes (Dedham) defeated Carrera, 13-9. Carrera came in 2nd – best Milton wrestler in his weight class.
