All the Truth That’s In Me tells the story of Judith, a young woman in an ambiguously colonial setting who was kidnapped as a teenager and returns to her village two years later unable to speak. Reviled by the villagers and former friends, the lonely Judith silently pours out her thoughts in powerful prose to Lucas, he childhood friend and only love. When her town comes under siege, Judith knows that the truth she was silenced for can save the village – but how can she speak up when she has no voice? Judith’s poetic but relentless narration in All the Truth That’s In Me unfolds an intense mystery and romance as she struggles for a voice of her own. All the Truth That’s In Me debuted in thirteen countries and provinces to five starred reviews from Kirkus, The Horn Book, and others. It has gained glowing reviews in The New York Times and The Boston Globe and has been nominated for an Edgar Award by Mystery Writers of America, longlisted for a 2014 Carnegie Medal in the U.K., and named a YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults Top Ten Title. The Boston Globe, Kirkus, The Horn Book, and School Library Journal all named the title to their “best of 2013” lists.
