This accident occurred at the intersection of Fairfax and Brook. I live on Fairfax Rd and I can report that most anytime of the day (but especially during rush hour times) it is crazy dangerous to turn off of Fairfax onto Brook in either direction. Driver treat Brook Rd like an expressway and have no regard for cars merging onto Brook. When I drive the speed limit on Brook (30 mph) I am frequently passed. And when I make the Left from Brook onto Fairfax when I am returning home after work it is not uncommon that drivers speeding on Brook after making the turn off of Blue Hills Parkway nearly rear-end me. Often they come careening around the turn and have to quickly move to avoid hitting my car when I am stopped with my directional clearly ON.
Not only that, the residents of Fairfax Road recently lobbied for a do not enter sign from Brook road from 7-9 am. I cannot tell you how many cars completely disregard the sign and come speeding up Farifax to cut to Eliot from Brook. I understand that Milton borders Boston and many people commute through Milton to get to Boston; but this is also our community and I believe there is a sizable number of commuters who disrespect our community.
The intersection of Brook and Fairfax is hazardous and something must change.
