The Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency has granted an extension to the comment period for a proposed 40B development on Brush Hill Road. The proposal from Mill Creek to build 276 apartment units has met with strong opposition from the neighbors and local organizations including Friends of the Blue Hills, NepRWA, and The Wakefield Trust.
The Board of Selectmen had requested the extension in order to allow time to compile and document the community concerns which relate to environmental impacts, traffic and safety, and preservation of the character of the area. Senator Brian A. Joyce commented:
“This extension illustrates how complex this issue is and how important it is for the town to have adequate time to review the application and to fully weigh the potential environmental and historical impacts of the proposed development. I’m thankful that MassHousing was willing to listen to the concerns raised by town officials and residents and have provided the time for all viewpoints to be heard.”
The public has until June 9, 2013 to communicate their issues and concerns.
