Last night, volunteers and donors turned out in force to support Bob Hiss for School Committee. Hosted at Steel and Rye’s sleek new event room, guests representing a wide swath of Milton including elected officials, Town Meeting members, campaign volunteers, long time friends, members of St. Michael’s church and fellow Cub Scout leaders met with each other and Bob to discuss the issues facing Milton’s Public Schools and the contribution that Bob plans to make.

In some brief remarks, Hiss stated “As a Supporters Turn Out for Bob Hiss for School Committeefather of three Milton public school children, as a soccer coach and Cub Scout leader, St. Michael’s Vestry member and 30-year software business executive, I want to serve on the school committee and focus on three things. First, I’ll strongly support the French Immersion program as the gem of our school system. Second, I’ll increase our focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to prepare our kids for the 21st century economy.

Lastly, I will bring my technology experience and business perspective to the committee to complement the contribution of the educators already serving to deliver a high quality education to students and parents (our customers) with the accountability and efficiency demanded by our taxpayers (our owner/investors).” Campaign Treasurer, Ted Daiber, reported that “We had a good night tonight.” They plan to use the funds raised to help spread the word as we approach the April 30 Town Election.
