Team effort results in important arrest

Notice from the Milton Police Department

Yesterday afternoon, a female resident of Hilltop St. returned home to find a strange car running in her driveway. Two career criminals, one from Randolph and his accomplice from Dorchester had forcibly entered her vacant home and were inside. The woman, unaware who owns this car calls her husband, who tells her to dial 911.

Milton units respond forthwith. A second resident witnesses two men leave the home and flee in this car. Within seconds, reponding Milton Officer Matt Mercer is able to intercept these felons on Harborview Rd. They attempted to ram his car and flee across Randolph Ave onto Chickatawbut Rd. Numerous Milton Units assisted by MSP Milton and Canton PD, begin to formulate a perimeter to stop these subjects. The car continues onto Rte. 138 NB towards Boston making all attempts to avoid capture. As the approached Brook Rd./Austin St. they crashed, exiting, now on foot running towards Brush Hill Rd. and the Neponset River. One suspect scaled a 7 ft barbed wire fence trying to get to the river and cross into Boston. Officer Jason Conklin in close foot pursuit, valted the fence and tackled this suspect taking him into custody. The second suspect was apprehended by Detective Mike Dillon and Officer’s Mark Cimildoro and Matt Mercer before he could vault the fence.

Both men have been charged with multiple felonies for the crime on Hilltop St. This appears to be an isolated offense by them in our Town, but both are career offenders with over 100 crimes on ther records. This case was an excellent team effort on behalf of all of the officers and Detectives working yesterday. It also shows how important it is for residents to be attentive and always call 911 at the first sign of something suspicous in your neighborhood.

Nice work by all involved….
