The Milton Public Library will host jazz vocalist Peter Smith and his band on Saturday, December 1st at 2 PM for a holiday concert. The Peter Smith Trio, featuring Yas Ishibashi on keyboards and Ralph Pepe on acoustic bass, present a wonderful program of songs from the Great American Songbook. Front-man Smith is equally adept at the swinging standards as he is delivering a soft ballad. Ishibashi’s excellent keyboard work alternates between the subtle and the driving energy needed for the more up-beat numbers, and Ralph Pepe, the very talented bassist, provides the necessary tempo to support his band mates, with some outstanding solo work mixed in. If you enjoy the songs of Cole Porter, the Gershwins and Rodgers and Hart, check out this talented trio. Light refreshments will be served. This program is free and open to the public, will be held in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the library, and is sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library. The library is located at 476 Canton Avenue and for more information, contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757. Please join us, bring the family to sing along, and catch some holiday spirit!
