The Milton Public Library will present a family concert on Saturday, September 29th by the talented group known as the “The Squeezebox Stompers.” This fabulous zydeco/cajun band does swing and swamprock in the best possible way, bringing their listeners the fun sounds of New Orleans and Mardi Gras. The Squeezbox Stompers play an eclectic and breezy mix of rootsy music, sometimes with an Irish flavor, sometimes folk, sometimes blues, and of course Cajun. All musicians, fronted by accordion player Ralph Tufo, are veterans of the local Boston music scene and will get you dancing in the aisles! Brett Cromwell of The Lowell Sun describes the group this way: “Listening to the Squeezebox Stompers is like taking a walk through the streets of the French Quarter. The Stompers keep the dance floor busy with their trademark Louisiana sound injected into every genre from Cajun, Zydeco, Blues to country. They are a freshing change of pace in New England, a long way from the warm Bourbon Street vibe they lovingly conjure with every performance.”
The concert will be held in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the library at 2 PM, and is free and open to the public. Please come and bring the kids for a very entertaining afternoon. Light refreshments will be served and this program is sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library. The library is located at 476 Canton Avenue and for more information, contact Jean Hlady, Adult Services Librarian, at (617) 698-5757.
