Boy, the hits just keep coming. Sunday afternoon there was a concert at the First Parish Church. The concert in its gentle way epitomized the entire week end. Choirs from across the community came together to share a passion. The community coming together happened all week end. And last night at the High School John and Maritta Cronin emceed a quiz show on Milton history with Brian Walsh moderating.
The crowd was warmed up by student Raquel Gallagher and Ann Thompson. Then the teams took the stage. There were two heats of two teams. The Kiwanis took on the Rotarians and bested them largely due to Herculean efforts of Bob Sheffield. The Rotarians went down laughing. Then the Mayor of Milton team cleaned the clocks of the 350th team. Ms Sheridan noted politely that the 350th team did not have time to prepare. They’ve been busy. The Kiwanis went on to capture the trophy after correctly answering the most questions. Questions such as: What radio station’s call letters come from a Milton hilltop? (WGBH as in Great Blue Hill)
It was great fun. Here is a slideshow of the two events. Photos to the choir event courtesy of Steve Nelson and Tom Palmer.
