Candidates for town wide offices convened to participate in the League of Women Voters Candidates’ Debates. Candidates for Assessor, Cemetary Trustee, and Library Trustee all appeared.

However, Richard Livingston, candidate for Board of Selectmen did not show. He and Tom Hurley are the two announced candidates for that office. The League rules do not allow “single seat” debates. Consequently, Hurley was not permitted to address the gathering.

Speculation is increasing regarding Livingston’s candidacy and whether he is actually in the race. He has made no formal announcement in local media. Nor has he appeared at public forums. He did not appear at the recent Milton Speaks Candidates Night.

Mr. Livingston has not responded to emails seeking comment.
