3 Milton residents to be honored at Fontbonne 12th annual gala

Fontbonne Academy will host its annual dinner and auction gala on Saturday, March 26 at Lombardo’s in Randolph. Evening of Stars, which has grown over the years to include Stellar Awards honoring the stars in various facets of the Fontbonne eductational experience, will also include dinner, silent and live auctions.

This year, Fontbonne will celebrate their prestigious Visual Arts program at Evening of Stars. As a special feature of the evening, Jen Mergel, a 1994 graduate of Fontbonne Academy and recently appointed Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, will be speaking. Ms. Mergel is one of the five stars of the evening who will be presented with the prestigious Stellar Award.

Also included are former and current Art Teachers, and an alumna whose line of work is in the graphic arts. Patty Toland ’83, member of the Fontbonne Academy Board of Trustees and partner/co-founder of Filament Group, a Boston-based web design and development firm will receive the Stellar Award, as will Sr. Nanine Tuller, CSJ, of Milton and Leona Hoey, former Art Teachers at Fontbonne Academy, also of Milton. Also included in the list of stars is Fontbonne’s current Art Teacher, and Milton resident, Nicole Robertson.

The evening will showcase artwork donated by alums and current students as part of the auctions. It is Fontbonne Academy’s biggest fundraiser of the year, bringing together alumnae, parents, friends, and the Learning Community to support the vibrant school.
